Lesson Plan

Angle relationships (complementary, supplementary, vertical)

Goals / Objectives

Find unknown angles in a figure by identifying and applying the relationship that holds among them: complementary, supplementary, linear pair, vertical, angles on a straight line (180°), or angles around a point (360°)

Compute the complement or supplement of a given angle

Apply the vertical angle theorem, and explain it in one step from linear pairs

Write and solve a linear equation from an angle relationship shown in a figure, and check the result against the relationship

Standards

"Know and directly apply relevant theorems such as the: ... • vertical angle theorem and the relationship of angles formed when a transversal cuts parallel lines."
