- Lesson Plan →Objectives, pacing and practice, built from this lesson's brief.
- Guided Notes →One page your students fill in and keep.
- Exit Ticket →Three items at the end of class. No student accounts.
- Re-teach →After an exit ticket: who missed what, and what to do tomorrow.
- Homework →Assign practice; it grades itself.

What you'll learn
- Solve a right triangle for an unknown side or acute angle using sine, cosine or tangent
- Choose the tool from what is given and wanted: the Pythagorean theorem when two sides are known and no angle is involved, and otherwise which of sine, cosine or tangent, from which two of opposite, adjacent and hypotenuse the problem involves
- Solve for an unknown side whether the variable sits in the numerator or the denominator of the ratio
- Use an inverse trig function to find an unknown acute angle from two known sides, distinguishing $\tan^{-1}$ from $\frac{1}{\tan}$
- Translate an angle-of-elevation or angle-of-depression description into a labelled right triangle and solve it
