"Analyze and interpret numerical data distributions represented with frequency tables, histograms, dot plots, and box plots." "For quantitative variables, calculate, compare, and interpret mean, median, and range." → `sat-psda-1var-center` (mean, median) and `sat-psda-1var-spread` (range) "Compare distributions using measures of center and spread, including: • distributions with different means and the same standard deviations. • distributions with different standard deviations." → `sat-psda-1var-spread`, with the full comparison of two distributions in `sat-psda-1var-shape` "Understand and describe the effect of outliers on mean and median." → `sat-psda-1var-outlier`

What you'll learn

  1. Answer questions about a data set by reading a frequency table, dot plot, bar graph, histogram or box plot, and decide whether the display gives the answer exactly, only within bounds, or not at all
  2. Find the total number of data values, and the number that meet a condition ("at least", "more than", "at most", "fewer than"), from frequencies
  3. Express a count as a relative frequency (a fraction, decimal or percent of the data) and recover a count from a relative frequency
  4. Read the five-number summary from a box plot and state about what fraction of the data lies in a given section
