- Lesson Plan →Objectives, pacing and practice, built from this lesson's brief.
- Guided Notes →One page your students fill in and keep.
- Exit Ticket →Three items at the end of class. No student accounts.
- Re-teach →After an exit ticket: who missed what, and what to do tomorrow.
- Homework →Assign practice; it grades itself.

What you'll learn
- Compare two distributions with one statement about center and one about spread (the range, the interquartile range or the standard deviation), and interpret each in context
- Calculate the range of a data set from a list, frequency table, dot plot or box plot, bound it from a histogram, and calculate the interquartile range from a box plot
- Describe standard deviation as the typical distance of the values from the mean, and decide from lists or displays which of two standard deviations is larger without calculating either
- State how adding the same number to every value changes the mean, median, range, interquartile range and standard deviation
